Kootenay National Park British Columbia, Canada This is a 100 MP panorama stitched from Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 images. Why? Because I dutifully packed up my wide-angle lenses for the hike... and then 2 miles in, I realized that I left the pack in the car. - Monotropa uniflora
This unusual flowering plant, which goes by such names as Indian Pipe, Ghost Flower, or Corpse Plant, is white because it lacks chlorophyll. It depends on a fungus for its nutrients; the fungus, in turn, depends on other plants. Emily Dickinson called it "the preferred flower of life," and her first volume of poetry (published posthumously) had the flower on its cover. - The Preferred Flower of Life
