The descent from the Jonathan Run trail to the waterfall was fairly difficult; I used my tripod a lot, and sometimes my hands, to get down the slope.

Getting back up was even more challenging. I pulled myself up the muddy slopes, using the rhododendrons as handles. Once I got to the top, my wife (who was waiting on the trail) let me know that I came back up by a different, and steeper, path than I had descended.
