This young boy with a kinked tail let himself in to our cottage in Kauai. He let himself back out when some chickens got uncomfortably close to the lanai.

A slitmask for the Low Resolution Imaging Spectrometer at Keck. A lot of my time in grad school was spent designing these slitmasks. Each of the slits corresponded to a (candidate) high-redshift galaxy whose spectrum we wanted to collect.
